5.7” IPS TFT LCD Display

The display delivers more vivid imagery for you.

The Moto X Pure Edition features a 5.7” IPS TFT LCD Display. That is a lot of acronyms. Let's break them down into more manageable pieces. IPS stands for In Plane Switching. It was designed to remedy the narrow range of viewing angles on traditional Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Displays (TFT LCD), which are basically your standard LCD screens. IPS also maximizes the better light properties of the display by increasing the precision of the colors. Which results in more vivid imagery for you.

1440p Quad HD

The Moto X Pure Edition display is a 1440p Quad HD which means it is even higher definition than 1080p displays. For a point of reference, that is more clarity than a Blu-Ray DVD or iPhone 6S Plus. The screen resolution is 1440x2560 pixels and contains 520 PPI (pixels per inch).

With the level of clarity that comes with this screen resolution it is incredibly enjoyable to watch movies, shows, and videos on your smartphone.

Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3

The display is also made of Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3. I am 100% certain that we can not say it is built ford tough, but this video below shows just how tough these displays are:
